Immortal Review copies up for Grab
For the month of February, I have 50 review copies up for grab of my title Immortal.
It’s the first in the Varcolac series and follows a Vampire with no fear, in fact she puts the fear in everyone.
Her cup finally shatters in this one and she does become good, sort off, but beware, it’s a dark Paranormal Romance and the vampires in this one leans more toward Anne Rice type of novels and not Stephanie Meyer’s vampires.
IMMORTAL (BOOK 1 IN THE VARCOLAC SERIES) PART OF GUARDIAN OF MONSTERS SAGA.
Natasha’s life begins the night she is turned.
With the ability to channel fire, a gift that only belongs to the witches, she becomes a terror— not only to the packs, but all the supernatural breeds. She’s known as Blaze. The deadliest vampire out there.
But Blaze has a secret.
She didn’t want to become a vampire, she needed to become a vampire, and her reasoning is lost. It died the night her human life did.
Her conscience activates when two varcolacs visit the covenant, looking for allies for the Great War.
What was it about the Varcolacs that made her grow a conscience? And will she be able to outrun it to keep the title of terror?
EXCERPT:
NATASHA
I stared at the ashes of the woman I had considered a friend. She’d betrayed our coven to the first degree, so she’d deserved nothing less than death. If I were to discover her father, that traitor, had been behind it, I would ensure his death would be just as painful.
“My love.” Cassandra came to stand beside me, rubbing my back in circles. We were alone in the throne room, just the two of us. I knew she’d allow me to cry if I could. So many emotions swirled around inside me, tightening my chest. If I hadn’t known better, I’d have guessed I was having a panic attack.
I was stronger than this, but something inside me was breaking. It had started to break the moment I found out Sonia had betrayed us. I hadn’t always treated her well, treated her with respect. But she’d been kind to me, which was why I’d thought of her as a friend.
Her betrayal, along with the confounding things she had said, battered my mind.
It could all have been lies to save her own ass… But doubt nagged at me.
Who was telling the truth and who was lying?
What had really left the scars on my back?
Cass wouldn’t have done that to me.
She was the love of my life.
My mind whirled, trying to make sense of everything Sonia had told me.
What reason had Sonia spoken about—why I had wanted to become a vampire? Why had I needed to become a vampire?
I loved the life I was living.
But suddenly, I was shaken, confused.
Cass tried to envelop me in her arms, but I fell to my knees, then sat flat on my ass. I pulled my knees up to my chest and screamed, an agonized sound that scraped my esophagus raw. My arms and head ignited. Flames danced on my skin.
“Stop that!”
But I didn’t want to stop. I wallowed in my confusion, my agony. Another scream left my mouth.
Why had she done this? Why?
I didn’t know whether that question was about Cass or Sonia. But mostly I thought about Sonia. Had she been that unhappy here? If so, why hadn’t she left with Darius? Why had she stayed? We hadn’t been such good friends that she’d have stayed for me.
